Stay IEEE Compliant with ComRent
We have everything you need to ensure your facility is in compliance with IEEE 1547-2018.
IEEE 1547 was revised to ensure the power grid continues to run efficiently as technology and economic advancements elevate the levels of penetration the grid experiences. The revised standard, IEEE 1547-2018, establishes distributed energy resources (DER) requirements that will maintain bulk system reliability long-term. These changes will impact solar farm commissioning procedures, and we have the technical experience, IEEE knowledge, and necessary equipment to keep your facility in compliance.
As a worldwide leader in load bank solutions, our team is fully versed in IEEE 1547-2018 and the impact it will have on solar farms. Find out how you can stay in compliance:
Establishing A Category Framework
All technologies will no longer be treated in the same way. Instead performance standards will be based on each distribution system’s needs. Creating requirements for both normal and abnormal operating conditions offers flexibility.
Units vs. Facility
Previously, IEEE 1547 was applied to the performance of DER units. Now the standard will apply to either the DER units or the DER facility as a whole. ComRent’s load bank solutions have the ability to effectively test loads at both.
The revision introduces two new requirements that will allow facilities to stay in compliance with evolving grid conditions and operational issues: Range of Adjustability and adjustable Frequency Droop.
ComRent’s team of experts can help ensure your commissioning project is in line with the revised IEEE Standard 1547.
